What do you think about method acting?
I've read this article about method acting. It said that Dustin Hoffman didn't take a shower and sleep for two days strait, because he's trying to get a role. His fellow cast member asked him," Why don't you just act?" This was about 20 or 30 years ago by the way.
What's so wrong with method acting?
I hear people complain all the time " he's too method" etcI think most people feel like it's some form of cheating but what else?
The term beat in method acting?
What did Stanislavski mean? Bit or beat? Was Stanislavski's Russian accent so thick that when people thought he said " BEAT" he was really saying " BIT?" How can I use emotional mammary to repeat an emotion in a scene or is that emotional memory? At the end is there a revolution or a resolution? How do I find my inner convict, or is that inner coflict? Do we make sure our costumes " fit" or " feet" ? Do I work for free or for a fee? Beat or bit? or Beet? Ballet is easier than method acting because I don't know French, so it doesn't matter if you pronounce it wrong to me.
Can u tell from an actor's performance that he's adopting method acting?
I adore quite a number of actors. However, I can never tell which are method actors and which are not. I am just in love with their performances. After browsing some sources, I can only say most actors that are regarded as method actors do always portray intense neurotic characters. Is there a relation? And can u ever tell? If yes, how?
Do you think method acting is legit?
I personally don't see where the skill or talent comes into play. Okay so I want to act like I have a pant full of fire ants, the best way for me to do that would be to tuck actual fire ants under my thong... Do you think method acting is really a legitimate form of art or is it just good looking people doing things in front of cameras for money?
What famous school or studio teaches method acting?
I know there's really not a way to teach it, but I've heard of famous teachers. are there any well known teachers today who teach?Or should I read the book by Konstantin Stanislavski?

What are the *best* acting methods?
I heard of Stanislavski, S. Adler, the Meisner thing, Uta Hagen and Strasberg. Is there anything else? Is there any more concrete methods? What was Orson Welles trained in? Thanks in advanceI don't know why this damn yahoo thing doesn't allow me to add any more posts in this thread but I wanted to say something as an answer to what you said especially ... Morris Stella Adler, Stanislavski and all that bunch of " methods" do tend toward being the character and I think this is not correct, an actor should play the character, be in control. All that emotion stuff, belief etc just make you miss the point. That's what I think anyway. Now someone said Orson Welles went to an acting school. Now, if the Stella Adler studio etc aren't schools, then what is an acting school? Because that's the place I'd like to go. To become an actor, I get the impression I gotta go to a school, which annoys me cause I don't like those " methods" . If there's places where you learn technique technique and technique please do tell me about it. Thanks a lot for answering anyway
The method in acting?
Actors often say that once they have learned something called " The Method" acting becomes much easier. What is The Method? As far as I know it is not to be confused with " Method Acting" which is something diffrent.
